Inside Sales Representative

Listenwise is a dynamic EdTech startup based in Boston. Listenwise is a listening skills company that uses public radio and podcasts to connect teaching to the real world. Listenwise Premium is a platform that helps teachers leverage the library of public radio to make assignments to students, support English language learners and test listening skills. Listenwise is led by respected public radio reporter Monica Brady-Myerov. Listenwise has users in all 50 states and internationally and customers all over the U.S. We’re based in an EdTech co-working space in the Boston Seaport and growing rapidly.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for someone with passion and energy to help us grow our network of schools. As a member of our Sales team you’ll be responsible to speaking with teachers and other education professionals in school districts across the U.S. and overseas.

You are a hardworking self-starter, dedicated to supporting a team and relentless in your pursuit to help Listenwise grow. You have a bias for action and aren’t afraid to ask for help. You are ready to pick up the phone and speak with anyone. You listen to understand the customer experience and challenges and are able to uncover their needs and position Listenwise as a solution. You understand how to communicate the value of something to lead to a successful closed sale. You crave a fast-paced, high volume work environment where your work has tangible social impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Expected to reach revenue quota and strive to meet an overall company goal
  • Close school and district level deals
  • Qualify inbound leads to determine the next best steps in the process
  • Engage and qualify prospects by talking with stakeholders
  • Communicate Listenwise Premium’s value proposition clearly and passionately through live and online demos
  • Manage heavy call and email volumes daily
  • Create and manage prospecting campaigns using CRM software
  • Partner with others on the sales team on prospecting campaigns and facilitating the product evaluation process through extensive outreach to influences and decision makers
  • Continually close business to exceed sales targets and drive revenue

What you need to have:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 1-3 years of sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve individual sales goals
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Superb organization skills and time management

It would be a bonus if you also had:

  • Experience in education, especially in primary or secondary schools
  • A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • A love of tracking and mining data
  • A passion for public radio and podcasts!
