Listenwise is an award winning listening skills platform for students and teachers in middle and high schools. Listenwise, a proud partner of NPR, curates a growing collection of professionally produced podcasts, aligned to state standards in ELA, social studies, and science. We harness the power of listening to advance literacy and learning in all students by using podcasts as classroom texts, amplifying content and providing students practice in required listening skills. Listenwise has users in all 50 states and internationally. We are based in an EdTech co-working space (LearnLaunch) in Boston’s Seaport District and growing rapidly.

What We’re Looking For

We have spent the last few years honing our product market fit and creating a repeatable sales model. We are now in a position to apply these lessons at scale. It will be your job to help us accelerate this growth. You will need to embody all of the characteristics of a strong sales person- objection handling, empathy, and grit. Equally important is the way you work with others---collaboration with colleagues and a desire to serve customers is critical.

The Role

As an SMB Account Executive, you will be the first voice that our customers hear, listening to and understanding the needs of teachers and administrators. You will qualify opportunities through phone and email to move them through the funnel yourself or hand them off to the Director of Sales. This is an end to end revenue generating role. You will be responsible for a new business quota.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Qualify all inbound leads from teachers and administrators to understand their needs and educate them about Listenwise
  • You will either take these opportunities through the pipeline for closing or transition these opportunities to the Director of Sales based on account size
  • Closely monitor deadlines and trigger events to ensure timely follow up
  • Participate in outbound prospecting campaigns to develop new opportunities for sales team
  • Deliver accurate revenue forecasts and account notes into CRM
  • Track down purchase orders to ensure the timely closing of all new business
  • Become knowledgeable in market factors (e.g. education policies and literacy competitors) affecting Listenwise sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with all members of the Listenwise team to deliver superior business outcomes, most consistently with marketing and customer success functions
  • Up to 10% travel required

  • 1-4 years of sales experience

Marketing Associate
The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Associate to join our team, to help run marketing campaigns, analyze data, and create content to help achieve our marketing goals.


You'll work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to set up campaigns, determine appropriate targeting, and optimize processes for conversion. Along with campaign management, you will have the opportunity to support our conferences, events, and webinars. Together our team will work to grow qualified leads to achieve our goals at both the top of funnel (prospects) and bottom of funnel (customers).


Fellow team members will look to you as the subject matter expert for all-things marketing automation including (but not limited to): setting up campaigns and workflows in our marketing automation platform (Sharpspring), establishing proper tracking for marketing campaigns, and understanding how data flows through various systems. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing channels.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Execute email campaigns and automation workflows
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media twitter chats, paid ad placements, email marketing, etc)
  • Gather and analyze consumer behavior data (e.g. web traffic and rankings)
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns to optimize conversion
  • Prepare promotional presentations
  • Help distribute marketing materials
  • Conduct market research to identify new revenue opportunities
  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Manage and update company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
  • Assist with organizing promotional events (ie: events, webinars, conferences)
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong record of academic achievement; BA degree in relevant field
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques including social media and PPC
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a goal-oriented attitude
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Excel, web analytics and GSuite
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, google analytics and Google Adwords)
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work both autonomously and with others;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Knowledge of the education landscape a plus
  • Preferred work experience as a Marketing Associate, Marketing Assistant or similar role

Account Manager
What We’re Looking For

It will be your job to help us improve the retention and expansion of our schools and districts. You will need to embody all of the characteristics of a strong account manager- relationship building, empathy, and grit. Equally important is the way you work with others---collaboration with colleagues and a desire to serve customers is critical.

The Role

As an Account Manager, you will be a critical member of our Customer Success Team, overseeing the implementation of Listenwise in schools and districts, and ensuring the continued renewal and expansion of our partners. You will work directly with school and district leaders over the lifecycle of the subscription to deliver superior service and consultation. In certain cases, you will also be asked to support with onboarding customers and leading professional development sessions.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sales team and customer success team to understand the needs of each of customer
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders for successful implementation and expansion of Listenwise
  • Proactive outreach on all matters related to existing Listenwise school partnerships throughout renewal lifecycle
  • Deliver accurate revenue forecasts and account notes into CRM
  • Track down purchase orders to ensure the timely closing of business
  • Become knowledgeable in school and district priorities as well as broader education policies affecting Listenwise
  • Collaborate with all members of the Listenwise team to deliver superior business outcomes, most consistently with sales and customer success functions
  • Deliver remote customer onboardings and on site professional development for districts during back to school season (5-10% travel)
