Listenwise is an award-winning listening skills program for students and teachers. Listenwise, a proud partner of NPR, curates a growing collection of professionally produced podcasts, aligned to state standards in ELA, social studies, and science. Marketing Development Representative
Full Time - Remote
What We’re Looking For

We have spent the last few years honing our product market fit and creating a repeatable sales model. We are now in a position to apply these lessons at scale. It will be your job to help us build relationships with schools and districts interested in improving student success through listening.

The Role

As a Market Development Representative, you are responsible for driving our outbound demand engine by identifying school districts and key decision makers and educating them about the value of Listenwise. You will also optimize our existing ecosystem of teachers to drive sales opportunities.

On Any Given Day, You Will
  • Engage school and district leaders through tailored prospecting efforts over the phone, email, and social media
  • Research initiatives within target school districts in areas like ELA, ELL, and College and Career Readiness
  • Generate new sales opportunities and transition relationships over to Account Executives for follow up
  • Plan, execute, and analyze prospecting campaigns
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to tailor prospecting efforts specific to the needs of their territory
  • Accurately track sales prospects in CRM software
  • Support sales operations as needed

Territory Account Executive (Texas)
Full Time - Remote
What We’re Looking For

You will need to embody all of the characteristics of a strong Territory Account Executive including relationship building, tenacity, empathy, and grit. Your desire to serve customers is critical. Equally important to the way you work with others is your ability to collaborate with colleagues and serve customers is critical.

The Role

It will be your job to help us accelerate growth through the acquisition of new school districts in Texas. You will receive support from a Marketing Development Representative and Marketing team to generate interest and schedule meetings but you will also aggressively network and prospect for opportunities.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Apply your Texas Ed-Tech sales experience to create Listenwise’s first sales playbook for Texas including persona segmentation, product positioning, and territory management
  • Qualify inbound leads in your territory to understand their needs and educate them about Listenwise
  • Develop new opportunities through events, networking and prospecting campaigns
  • Meet or exceed sales goals
  • Build new relationships using a customer oriented approach and leverage existing network to educate them about Listenwise
  • Closely monitor deadlines and trigger events to ensure timely follow up to advance and win opportunities
  • Maintain accurate revenue forecasts and account notes in CRM
  • Become knowledgeable in market factors (e.g. education policies and literacy competitors) affecting Listenwise sales opportunities and share insights with sales leadership
  • Collaborate with all members of the Listenwise team to deliver superior business outcomes, most consistently with marketing and customer success teams
  • Moderate travel required in territory

The Ideal Candidate
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, empathetic, and intellectually curious
  • 5-10 years of experience selling ed-tech products to school district leaders in Texas
  • Experience working with educators
  • Experience working with diverse organizations and those that support them
  • Detail oriented with an ability to step back, strategize, and ask for help
  • Superior listening skills, able to identify customers unique objectives
  • Ability to influence district decision makers, and navigate objections
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Desire to expand opportunity through education
  • Ability and interest in working in a fast paced, dynamic start up environment in a unique industry
  • College Degree
  • Must be able to work remotely

Content Marketing Manager

The Role

The Content Marketing Manager is the company’s go to person for all things content marketing- planning, writing, SEO, and performance analysis. You’ll get the chance to do it all (while making a big impact): research, prepare, write, and edit online content for marketing . As you may imagine, strong writing and editing skills are key as is high quality execution.
You’ll think like a content marketer: Exploring how one long-form piece of content can be extended into four or five more short-form, SEO-focused pieces. Then, you’ll bring ideas about how you might extend content pieces across different mediums, for example video clips, webinars, audio, infographics, etc. Finally, you’ll have a point of view on how those related pieces will provide clear value to teachers and school administrators and execute for maximum impact.
The Content Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Research and identify core stories and strategic topics for editorial content to boost organic traffic and engagement with target audiences
  • Manage editorial calendar in alignment with Listenwise go-to-market strategy
  • Create educational content (blogs, toolkits, webinars, case studies) on complex topics as well as short-form content (landing pages, social media posts, etc.)
  • Assist with the implementation of the social media strategy
  • Use data analytics to drive your content generation and distribution decisions
  • Optimize content assets and track SEO performance
  • Manage contractors for multi-media production of content assets

The Ideal Candidate
  • 3+ years of experience in a Marketing Content focused role
  • Excellent written communication and editing skills
  • 2+ years of experience as an educator or in the ed tech industry
  • Demonstrated SEO expertise
  • Have a portfolio of prior work including blog posts, newsletters, social posts, case studies, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience at SaaS company a plus
  • Video/audio editing and/or graphic design experience a plus
