Lingolift includes a wide variety of interactive video lessons to help newcomers and emergent multilinguals learn survival, social, and academic language progressively. Each collection features a handful of interactive video lessons focused on a topic, as well as a Teacher’s Guide with activities before, during, and after viewing the videos. Interactive multimedia resources and tips for differentiation within accompanying teacher’s guides are especially helpful for students with limited or interrupted formal education (SLIFE).
Social collections begin with basic survival English topics, such as introductions, colors, time, and weather, building to common conversational topics, such as sports, pets, jobs, and cooking.
Academic collections teach language and content related to common curriculum topics, such as habitats, space, fables, and cultural traditions.
Grammar collections provide practical guidance on topics such as singular and plural nouns, verb tenses, and using prepositions of time and place.
The library contains a multitude of videos that students can explore independently, following the familiar Watch, Learn, Speak instructional sequence to practice social and academic language related to topics of interest.
