Harassment on Social Media

Yik Yak is a social media smartphone application that allows users to only see messages within a 5-mile radius. It’s used mostly on college campuses. The users can chat anonymously, which has led to racist messages, threats and harassment. Being anonymous has also given some users a voice and a way to support each other. Colleges and Universities are struggling to find a way to support their students, keep them from being harassed and threatened, as well as protect their First Amendment rights. Listen to hear more about the controversy over the use of Yik Yak.
