Major Volcanic Eruption in Tonga

An underwater volcano recently erupted in the South Pacific Ocean, sending tons of ash into the air and creating a tsunami that hit the coast of the nearby island of Tonga. Rescuers are struggling to deliver aid to the tiny nation, which sustained tremendous damage. Scientists hope to learn more about the gigantic volcanic eruption, heard hundreds of miles away, to determine how volcanic activity affects the environment.
