Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The dispute between Israelis and Palestinians over land in the Middle East dates back centuries. Recently, violence broke out again when Israeli authorities tried to evict several Palestinian families from their homes in East Jerusalem, an area of the capital city that both Israelis and Palestinians claim as their own. The conflict escalated, with protests, police raids, and rockets fired in both directions between Palestinian-controlled Gaza and Israel.
